Today marks a historic day for the northeast region of India as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a majority in the assembly polls in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya. BJP president Amit Shah has expressed his gratitude to the people of the northeast for their support and has hailed the results as a victory for the party’s development agenda.
The BJP has secured a majority in Tripura, winning 35 out of 59 seats, while the Congress has won 16 seats. In Nagaland, the BJP has won 12 out of 60 seats, while the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has won 18 seats. In Meghalaya, the BJP has won 2 out of 60 seats, while the Congress has won 21 seats.
Speaking on the results, Amit Shah said, “This is a historic day for the northeast region of India. The people of the northeast have given us a resounding mandate in Tripura, Nagaland and Meghalaya. This is a victory for the BJP’s development agenda and we are grateful to the people of the northeast for their support.”
He further added, “The BJP is committed to the development of the northeast region and we will work towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people of the region. We will ensure that the northeast region is developed on par with the rest of the country.”
The BJP’s victory in the assembly polls in the northeast is a major boost for the party and its development agenda. The party is now set to form governments in all three states and will be looking to implement its development agenda in the region.
