The minister said that the Chinese Embassy had donated Rs 90 lakh to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation in 2006-07. He asked why the Congress leader was silent on the issue.
“Why is Rahul Gandhi silent on the Chinese ‘donation’ to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation? Is it because he is scared of the Chinese? Is it because he is scared of the truth coming out? Is it because he is scared of the people of India?” Thakur said in a tweet.
The minister’s remarks come in the wake of the ongoing border tensions between India and China in eastern Ladakh.
The minister also asked why the Congress party was silent on the issue. He said that the Congress party should answer the questions raised by the people of India.
“Why is the Congress party silent on the Chinese ‘donation’ to the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation? Why is the Congress party not answering the questions raised by the people of India? Is it because they are scared of the truth coming out?” Thakur said in another tweet.
