Lionel Messi was crowned the Best Men’s Player at the 2022 FIFA Awards, while Argentina’s national team coach Lionel Scaloni was rewarded for his team’s World Cup triumph.

Messi was also instrumental in helping Barcelona to the La Liga title, as well as the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League.

Messi’s award was the latest in a long line of individual accolades, including six Ballon d’Or awards, six European Golden Shoes, and five FIFA World Player of the Year awards.

Meanwhile, Argentina’s national team coach Lionel Scaloni was rewarded for his team’s World Cup triumph. Argentina won the tournament in 2022, beating Brazil in the final. Scaloni was praised for his tactical acumen and his ability to get the best out of his players.

The awards ceremony also saw the presentation of the Best Women’s Player award, which went to England’s Lucy Bronze. Bronze was instrumental in helping England to the World Cup final, where they were narrowly beaten by the United States.
