Liverpool have boosted their hopes of a top four finish in the Premier League after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Wolves at Anfield. The Reds had to come from behind to secure the three points, with goals from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino cancelling out Raul Jimenez’s opener.

The victory sees Liverpool move up to fourth in the table, two points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. Jurgen Klopp’s side have now won four of their last five league games, and are now just four points behind third-placed Leicester City.

The Reds started the game brightly, but it was Wolves who took the lead in the 24th minute. Jimenez was on hand to tap home from close range after a neat move from the visitors. Liverpool responded well, and were level just before the break when Mane fired home from the edge of the area.

The second half saw Liverpool take control of the game, and they eventually got their reward in the 73rd minute. Firmino was the hero, as he fired home from close range after a neat move from the Reds. Liverpool held on for the win, and will now be looking to build on this result in their next game against Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, leaders Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 win over Newcastle United. The Gunners are now four points clear of second-placed Manchester City, and are looking increasingly likely to win the title.
