Former Australian captain Michael Clarke has come out in support of Indian batsman KL Rahul, saying that if he was the captain of the Indian team, he would be fighting for the right-hander to be included in the playing XI.

Clarke, who is currently commentating on the ongoing India-Australia series, said that he has been impressed with Rahul’s batting and believes that he should be given more chances to prove himself.

“I’d be fighting for KL Rahul if I was the captain of the Indian team. I think he’s a very talented player and he’s got a lot of potential. He’s got a great technique and he’s got a great temperament,” Clarke said in an interview.

The former Australian skipper also praised Rahul’s ability to adapt to different conditions and formats.

“He’s shown he can adapt to different conditions and different formats. He’s a very talented player and I think he should be given more chances to prove himself,” he added.

Rahul has been in and out of the Indian team in recent times, with the selectors preferring to go with other players in the batting line-up. However, Clarke believes that Rahul should be given more chances to prove himself.

“I think he should be given more chances to prove himself. He’s a very talented player and he’s got a lot of potential. He’s got a great technique and he’s got a great temperament,” he said.

Clarke also said that he has been impressed with Rahul’s batting in the ongoing series and believes that he should be given more chances to prove himself.

“I’ve been very impressed with his batting in this series. He’s shown he can adapt to different conditions and different formats. He’s a very talented player and I think he should be given more chances to prove himself,” he said.

Clarke’s comments come at a time when the Indian team is struggling to find the right combination in the batting line-up. Rahul has been in and out of the team in recent times, but Clarke believes that he should be given more chances to prove himself.
