South African captain Sune Luus has expressed her disappointment after her team’s loss in the T20 World Cup Final against Australia. Luus was visibly frustrated after the match, and made her feelings known in a post-match interview.
“You guys are very annoying,” Luus said, referring to the Australian team. “We had a great tournament and we were so close to winning the title. It’s really disappointing to lose in the final, but we have to take it on the chin and move on.”
The South African team had a strong tournament, reaching the final after defeating India in the semi-finals. However, they were unable to get the better of the Australians in the final, with the Aussies winning by 85 runs.
Luus was full of praise for her team’s efforts throughout the tournament, but was clearly frustrated with the result.
“We gave it our all and I’m proud of the way we played,” she said. “We just didn’t have enough to get over the line in the end. We have to take this as a learning experience and come back stronger next time.”
The South African captain also had some words of encouragement for her team, urging them to keep their heads up and look ahead to the future.
“We have to keep our heads up and look forward to the next tournament,” she said. “We have a lot of talent in this team and I’m sure we can bounce back from this disappointment and come back stronger.”
Luus’ words of encouragement will no doubt be a source of motivation for her team as they look to bounce back from this disappointment and make a strong showing in the next tournament.
